先日、蓮花寺池公園にお花見に行ってきました。

蓮花寺は梅、桜、藤、蓮と、お花を通じて四季を感じることができ、

中でも桜・藤のこの季節は、散歩するのにお気に入りの場所です。

さて、今回は根管治療後の疼痛について

根管貼薬剤、特にホルモクレゾールを使用した場合に

疼痛の緩和効果があるのか調べています。

対象歯は術前は無症状で、抜髄処置を受けた40歯です。

それぞれ作業長まで根管形成が行われ

根管洗浄には1%NaOClが使用されました。

貼薬には半数の20歯はホルモクレゾール綿球、

もう半数には乾綿球が使用されました。

This controlled, double-blind clinical study involved the drug formocresol. This study consisted of a control and experimental group of 20 patients each. The control group received a dry cotton pellet as a posttreatment intracanal medication and the experimental group received a cotton pellet plus formocresol. Statistical tabulation and analysis disclosed no difference in posttreatment pain responses between control and experimental groups. Forty percent of the patients treated reported some degree of pain between appointments.

結果は表の様に

疼痛の有無に関して有意差は認められませんでした。

根管形成が出来ている場合には、疼痛緩和目的で

ホルモクレゾールを選択する根拠は無いことが分かりました。
